Encourage life long faith formation and support ongoing conversion!
Faith formation today means reaching beyond the classroom and connecting with the center of parish life—the liturgy. Faith formation is about forming disciples—disciples who are formed in a worshiping community on fire with the faith—so full of the spirit, in fact, that people young and old can't wait to share their faith with one another and all who are touched by their lives. Connect faith formation to the liturgical celebration
The primary event in the faith lives of Catholics is the liturgy, but how do you connect that liturgical experience to the faith journeys of all the people in your programs—children, inquirers, catechumens, candidates, and life-long learners?
The Celebrating The Lectionary series uses the Sunday readings as the springboard for weekly faith formation sessions that include Scripture sharing, discussion, and engaging, age-appropriate activities. Each session breaks open the readings, helps people connect the Scripture to their lives, and suggests opportunities for people to put their developing faith into action. This is faith formation that encourages people to live the call to service and celebration! What about doctrine?
Since CTL uses the lectionary readings of the church year, participants are formed in the story of Jesus' life, death, and resurrection and the continuing mission of the church as witness in the world. The doctrine and tradition of the Catholic Church is covered throughout the church year, as outlined in CTL's complete, year-long Scope & Sequence, which outlines spiraling systematic doctrinal points presented each week through the lens of the readings and the liturgical calendar. Finally- a whole-community solution!
Wondering where to start? You could start by choosing whichever age-level packets you need—there are specially prepared sessions for preschoolers, youth, adults, and all ages in between. But CTL doesn't stop there—you might also want catechumenate sessions for children and/or adults; Children's Liturgy of the Word; and bilingual (English-Spanish) handouts to put in your Sunday bulletin for at-home faith sharing. Put all of these components together, and you've got the comprehensive, whole community faith formation experience you're looking for! Liturgical Focus
