This year's Catechesis of the Good
Shepherd Journal features articles and reflections on the topic of ecumenism
and how this Montessori-inspired style of religious formation has stretched
across denominational lines. The issue includes three papers from the
international gathering and retreat of catechists at Assisi, Italy. In the
first, Sofia Cavalletti, one of the Catechesis' founders, shares her
insights and reflections about ecumenism. Presiding Episcopal Bishop of the
United States, Frank Tracy Griswold, and the U.S. national director of the
Catechesis, Tina Lillig, then offer their own contributions. Featured
columns, such as Life of the Catechist, and other articles by
catechists round out the journal. As always, the prayers and art of the
children enrich, enliven and inspire the reader.
Anyone
involved with the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd will benefit from this
annual journal, as will anyone who wants to explore the richness and
simplicity of the Catechesis' way of accompanying children as they grow in
relationship with God.
