A Legacy of Catholic-Jewish Dialogue: The Joseph Cardinal Bernardin Jerusalem Lectures
Thomas A. Baima, Editor

A Legacy of Catholic-Jewish Dialogue: The Joseph Cardinal Bernardin Jerusalem Lectures chronicles this significant annual Catholic-Jewish event. Each lecture is written by some of the world's leading experts in the field of Catholic-Jewish relations and represents another step in a growing dialogue which is now recognized internationally as the premier encounter between local communities. This anthology collects the ten lectures presented at the 10th anniversary of the Bernardin Lectures series. This collection provides an interesting coda to A Blessing To Each Other: Cardinal Joseph Bernardin and Jewish Catholic Dialogue.
Cardinal Bernardin's lecture which begins the series represents the first time a churchman of his rank so forthrightly addressed the issues of anti-Semitism in a public dialogue with the Jewish Community. Cardinal George's lecture suggests a new trajectory for a mature dialogue relationship which opens new horizons for scholarship around both faith and culture issues and interreligious dialogue.

Fr. Thomas Baima is currently the Vicar for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs at the Archdiocese of Chicago. He holds an STB, MDiv, STL, University of St. Mary of the Lake; his STD is from the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome. He is the former Vice-president/Provost at the University of St. Mary of the Lake;
Director, Archdiocese of Chicago Office for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs; Former President, Illinois Conference of Churches, Council of Religious Leaders of Metropolitan Chicago.
