Celebrating the Lectionary for Primary Grades teaches children in grades 1-3 (approximately ages 6-8) reverence for and connection with the Gospel, using the full text of the Gospel reading. The reflections and activities in this resource will help children grow in familiarity with the stories of the Gospel, themes of Church teaching and tradition, and liturgical seasons and practices.

Celebrating the Lectionary™ provides quick reflections on the Gospel readings for all Sundays and holy days of obligation from August 5, 2012 through June 30, 2013. Each session is designed to be 15-20 minutes long and requires no preparation or special materials. This makes it easy for catechists or Catholic school teachers to supplement primary curriculum with Lectionary-based material that enables children and their families to remain connected to the cycle of readings, an ancient source of Catholic identity and community, even if they do not regularly attend Mass.
