We Learn About Mary and Her Feast Days will acquaint children with the numerous days that we honor Mary throughout the liturgical year. They will come to better comprehend the role of Mary in the life of the Church as they see Mary as a person who followed the will of God.
We Learn About Mary and Her Feast Days introduces children to the solemnities, feast days, and memorials on the universal calendar, cultural feasts and devotion to Mary, and Marian prayers. The book portrays Mary as the first disciple of Christ and a model for all Christians. Children will learn that the Church honors Mary for the role that she played in our salvation history. The chapters in the book follow the school year, beginning with the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and ending with the memorial of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In between are the solemnities of Mary, the Mother of God, the Annunciation of the Lord, the Assumption, and the Immaculate Conception; the feasts of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Presentation of the Lord, and the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary; and the memorials of Our Lady of Sorrows, Our Lady of the Rosary, Our Lady of Lourdes, our Lady of Mount Carmel, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
