The Way of the Cross: Leader's Book
Compiled by David Philippart

The Stations of the Cross carries an assembly through the climax of Jesus' life and ministry—the crucifixion that led to his Resurrection. In this valuable resource, LTP offers three versions of this centuries-old prayer to aid parishes and individuals alike as they walk Christ's way during Lent.

  • The traditional Jerusalem version of the 14 stations recounts the moments leading up to Jesus' crucifixion in the way familiar to most Roman Catholics.
  • The contemporary Roman version, developed by the Pope's liturgy office and used by the Holy Father in the Colosseum in Rome, focuses on the Gospel accounts of Jesus' crucifixion.
  • A new set of 14 stations created by Benedictine sister Ruth Fox, “The Way of the Cross with the Women of the Gospels,” focuses on the ministry of women to Jesus as he journeyed toward death.

Each version of the Stations is included in a leader's book for use with an assembly. Each version is also available in its own small participant's booklet that can be used both for communal celebration and private devotion. Handsome, compelling art allows phe homebound to pray the Stations in communion with the rest of the parish.

Prepare your community for the celebration of Good Friday and the rest of the Triduum with this time-honored devotion. Provide copies to parishioners for prayer at home and at church.

Paperback, 8 1/2 x 11, 96 pages.
